Arranger, film/TV scorer, conductor, jazz trumpeter Neil Hefti was born in Oct of 1922. Along with the 'Batman' theme /background music he is probably best known for the 'Odd Couple' theme first for the film, then later incidental music for the popular TV series, for which he won two Grammy nominations. He started as a trumpeter for Woody Herman in the mid-1940s, then worked with Count Basie starting in 1950. Tom PETTY was born in Oct of 1950. IMHO, no one was ever better at distilling the essence of 60s American Rock N'roll and The British Invasion, into something new, than he was.
